Let me just start by saying, thank goodness we have an extra two weeks. This week would’ve marked the halfway point for the typical 6-week ORC and man, that would be bad.
Last week I explained that our Home Depot order was going to be delayed. It ended up arriving this week (yay), but we haven’t had a chance to actually dive into any ORC projects just yet.
But once again, that doesn’t mean we didn’t accomplish anything this week. We made a little bit more progress on our little garage workshop and finished both a miter saw and table saw stand to make our projects a little easier.

In terms of the actual laundry room, we made 90% of the main decor decisions. Here’s what we ended up getting:
I told myself I was going to make the detailed plans for each of our projects, but that didn’t happen. Guess we’ll just figure them out as we go along like we normally do 😉
Surprise!
We did get a happy surprise this week: our tile arrived! We didn’t know when it was going to come, so it was a huge relief to get it so early. And let me just say, this tile is BEAUTIFUL. I’m still over the moon that we won it all.
Since we finally got to see the tile in person, we finalized our paint color for the cabinets. We went back and forth between white and gray (and even blue at some points) and ultimately decided to go with our original choice: repose gray.
Can’t remember our design? See it here.
Isn’t Repose Gray pretty? It’s soft and warm, which is exactly what we were going for in this space. The color is also a pretty close match to the light veining in the wall tile.
Progress + Next Steps
By this time next week, I promise we’ll have some actual, visible progress to report. The goal is to remove the wire rack that’s currently in the laundry room, build the upper cabinets, and get them installed.
It’ll be our first time building cabinets, so it should be fun!

- paint cabinets
- install hardware
- make bottom section
- make countertop
- Drying space
- add rod to hang clothes

- If there’s time (HA!)
