The mission behind Crafted by the Hunts is to inspire you to create your dream home on a budget through DIY and economic design. I’d like to think I deliver on the DIY front, but design is something I’ve been eager to give more attention to. What better time than the present, right? Let’s dive on in!
When working with e-design clients, budget is always a very important factor. I want to help you find the best design within your means. So where do I shop? 90% of my finds come from Wayfair, Joss and Main, and AllModern. Why? Because they know how to deliver quality and an expensive look without breaking the bank. That’s a win-win-win if you ask me!
All of the finds for this transitional master bedroom are from Joss and Main. I have something fun up my sleeve with them, but I’ll wait to share that until we take a look at the design. ?
What is transitional design?
Before we jump into the design, let’s take a moment and figure out what we’re talking about. Transitional design is the best of both worlds combined into one: contemporary and timeless. Since transitional design pulls in a lot of classic styles, you can be confident that your choices will stand the test of time.

The Master Bedroom Design
Does it surprise you that we started our design out with a canopy bed? We DIYed our canopy bed a couple of years ago and are obsessed, but I’m loving the metal and clean lines on this one. From there, it was time to dress up the bed with a little bit of texture. Texture helps to make your spaces feel more cozy and inviting (not that bed really needed help to be inviting in the first place).
Next up was softening the metals with some beautiful wood nightstands. There is also a dresser that completes this set.
Now for a pop of color! Even a neutral room deserves a little bit of color. My favorite ways to add in some color? Plants, rugs, and artwork. They are all pieces that you can easily swap in and out to create a completely different feel to your space.
Alright, time to share what I have up my sleeve with Joss and Main. I’m thrilled to announce that I am officially a Joss and Main Style Spotter, which means I’m going to be sharing lots of affordable, beautiful design inspiration and products with you for the foreseeable future!
